Trinity Methodist Newport
Showing God’s Love
Welcome to Trinity’s Travelling Teddies page. This little fellow is Bob.
Bob joined our congregation at the end of 2010. He came to us because he wanted to see the world with the much travelled members of Trinity. We decided to help him in his quest to see the world by asking the congregation to let him stow away in their luggage when they head out on their travels this year and see how many destinations we could get him to before the end of 2011.
When Bob was introduced to the congregation there was so much interest in taking him travelling that he had to bring in some of his relatives to help him out. So you won't just be hearing about Bob, but also his big brother Barney and their scottish cousin Bruce, there may be some other relatives yet to be introduced.
Bob and his family have done a lot of travelling already this year, our bears have been to Florida for a month, spent two months in New Zealand, visited Notre Dame, China, Canada and Australia.
They have also been to locations not so far away, they have been to see our friends at Gwehelog, he has been with Rev Louise to Lindors on retreat and had his photograph taken with the Chairman of the District. Bob has also visited Birmingham to see Dancing with the Stars and has checked out the history of Colchester. Barney went with Trinity Young Christians to Cwmbran in February to see the pantomime (Oh, yes he did!!). Bob has been to Liverpool and has visited London as well recently. Recently introduced Bronwyn (Bobs rugby playing sister!!) enjoyed two weeks in Dorset earlier in the year. We even had a bear at the British Grand Prix (though he didn’t get in an F1 car!).
There is still plenty of room in the diary though, so if you want to smuggle Bob or a member of his family out of the country let the web editor know at the link below and he'll put the booking into the diary for you.
If you have already taken one of the teddies away and you have photographs or a report to be included on the website please email them to the web editor.
We will be having an evening to review of Bob and his families travels on the 17th March 2012 so keep the date free in your diary.
Obviously we have quite a few photographs of the bears travels, click here to visit their photo gallery.
